The ability to concentrate is crucial to your writing.

Are you one of us who gets easily distracted? Distractions scatter the attention and kill the writing flow. After 8 years in the university and as a mother of 2 noisy kids, I know this. Fortunately, I have found something that helps me maintain concentration.

I find listening to music to be brilliant for focusing. It blocks out distractions and helps my creative writing process.

Why you should listen to music while writing

Music can help you:

  • Maintaining focus
  • Boost creativity
  • Increase productivity

Which music works best?

Many people like music without lyrics to keep focus. I need music with lyrics.

To find the music that works for you, make a playlist of everything you think might fit. Then, play the songs and write. You quickly notice if the focus is maintained or broken.

You will get my playlist of the best writing songs in tomorrow’s story.

If you use music to focus, do you have a favorite writing song?
