Dear middle school student. As a teacher in middle school, I want to tell you something. I see you when you don’t bother trying to figure things out, don’t see the usefulness, or don’t have the energy to do what your teacher says.

However, in certain areas of life, YOU have to take responsibility.

Do you want a better starting point for your grown-up life?

Take charge of these three areas:

1) Education

Make routines and strategies for efficient learning. A teacher can only present the material. You have to do the job of learning the important things yourself.

Don’t learn it for your teacher, mom, or friends, but for yourself.

2) Health

Exercise, diet, sleep, and mental health matter. I advise you to prioritize it. Start now and build a good foundation.

Also, don’t use the phone on your bed at night. It destroys sleep. Tired teens make worse choices.

3) Investing
