Want to write, but lack ideas, keep procrastinating, get distracted, and feel insecure? I feel your struggle. Try these 7 simple steps to create a writing habit.

The key is the first words of this introduction, that you actually want to write.

1. Ideas

Always pay attention. You never know when inspiration will strike and you’ll find a great idea. Are you reading, watching, or listening to something on a podcast that might be relevant to write about? Collect ideas in an organized document. Give yourself a good start by not having to start with a blank page.

2. Find time

Decide the night before when you want to write. Protect that time and use it well. Procrastination is the enemy.

3. Unplug from the world

When you write, turn off all notifications. Find the quietest possible. Don’t lose focus.

If you have disturbing sounds around you, see if you can concentrate better with music.
