There are a lot of things most people don’t know about working as a nutritionist.

For example, did you know…

  • People look in my shopping cart and comment on what I buy
  • Everybody lies when telling me about what they eat
  • Even overweight people think they have to eat what’s on their plate

For anyone in the industry, this stuff is common knowledge.

But to those who haven’t lived “a day in the life” of a nutritionist, some of these might come as a surprise.

For example, here’s the weirdest thing most people don’t know about being a nutritionist:

➡ The doctor refers a patient to obesity treatment without the patient’s knowledge.

This actually happens surprisingly often.

A doctor refers a patient to me as a nutritionist without telling the patient.

Do you think this conversation bodes well for a successful outcome?

Me: “Hi, this is the nutritionist. I received a referral from the doctor, who says that you need counseling for obesity.”
